About Me

I'm Noah Detzer, and I'm running for the one-year term on the Essex Town Select Board.

My wife and I moved to Essex in 2024 when we bought our first home. We have two cats and recently welcomed our rescue dog, Honey, to the family. As a recent first time home buyer, I know how important affordability is to welcoming young families in our community.

I currently work for the Vermont Department of Health and formerly taught in local public schools as a high school English and Film teacher. I value and support the work of public servants like school teachers, emergency workers, and firefighters.

I have a masters in Public Policy Management from Georgetown University. I am passionate about local issues and have volunteered for many campaigns.

I put my hat in this race to keep Essex affordable, to support our local businesses, bring more transparency to municipal government, and plan responsibly for our town’s future.

I was appointed to the Housing Commission last year and decided to run for the Select board because I'm passionate about doing what we can on a town level to prepare for the future of Essex.
