Transparency. Affordability. Community.

The Campaign

I’m Noah Detzer. I’ve taught in Vermont public schools and currently work in communications at the Vermont Department of Health. In 2025, I was appointed to the Essex Housing Commission--which gave me experience in municipal government and an understanding of the problems we face.

My wife and I love living in Essex—but it’s clear that rising costs and limited housing are making it harder for families, seniors, and young people to stay. I’m running for Selectboard to keep Essex affordable, to support our local businesses, bring more transparency to municipal government, and plan responsibly for our town’s future.

My Vision

Priorities

Transparency

If elected, I will regularly update you on what happens on the Selectboard--and regularly solicit input on the issues that matter.

Affordability

One of the main reasons I wanted to run was to ensure that Essex is more affordable--and we invest in a sustainable community for everyone, including families and seniors.

Creating a community where everyone feels welcome.
